Senior Technical Consultant, Networking

Currently we are in need of a Sr. Network Engineer to join our company on a full-time basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As a Sr. Network Engineer, you will be responsible for building, configuring, troubleshooting and technical analysis of the customer’s networks
  • Work directly with CDI and customer’s technical staff to gather technical requirements needed to design and implement LAN WAN communication
  • Provides design, installation, technical support, upgrades and optimization of various network communications and systems
  • Provide technical leadership for Consulting Services projects
  • Provide knowledge transfer to the customer
  • Performs customer support activities for data communications equipment and networking system products
  • Updates the Practice Manager on scheduling and project status
  • Provides technical guidance and support to other Network Engineers as needed
  • Engages in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging technologies. This includes obtaining vendor-related certifications (professional level certification preferred – CCIE, CCNP, CCDP, or similar), to enhance professional development and our corporate standing with our vendors
  • Perform analysis of the networking problems as well as provide highest-level crisis management

Basic Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

At least eight (8) years of experience is required in the following areas:

  • CCIE – Route/Switch; Security
  • CCNP routing or security certification or equivalent work experience
  • Professional-level experience in relevant fields of network engineering/implementation
  • Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience in the following areas of specialization:
    • Internetworking Routing and Switch, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches
    • WAN Networking Architectures and Protocols
    • Security Systems and Applications
  • TCP / IP networking and Ethernet technologies
  • Subject matter expert on ISE; how to design & deploy
  • Subject matter expert on how to create different application policies in the ACI including Tenants, Application Network Profile (ANP), End Point Group (EPG), Contracts, Subjects and Filters
  • Subject Matter Expert on the Fabric Access Policy including how to create switch policies, interface policies, AEPs, Physical and External Domains
  • Subject Matter Expert on Fabric Discovery Activity including Verifying the APIC and LEAF Health
  • Expert experience with configuring and deploying enterprise-class networks including the following products: Cisco Nexus Product Line
  • Expert understanding of external L2 / L3 fabric connectivity and experience in L2 / L3 switching Architecture design
  • Must have an advanced understanding in BGP, OSPF, VDC, vPC, VXLAN, ECMP and Fabric Path
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience with LAN / WAN topologies including MPLS, and point-to-point private lines.
  • Experience with F5 load balancer, Cisco ISR and ASR routers
  • Cisco Catalyst 6500 (Layer 2 and Layer 3) and 3750 switches.
  • Experience with route protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, BGP, RIPv2
  • Experience with Cisco ASA
  • Installation and configuration of Firepower Preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to document work
  • Proficient skills in Visio and Microsoft Office products

Desired Skills:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Cisco expert level certifications such as CCIE R/S or security
