It’s official! The Microsoft Partner Network is now the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program. After months of work behind the scenes, Microsoft officially launched the new program on October 3, 2022.

What is the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program?

The new partner program is an “evolution in how Microsoft will develop and deliver cloud applications, services, and devices for customers everywhere.”

Microsoft partners like CDI, who have made the investment in their Microsoft partnership, will have access to resources and services that can be used when working with their clients around the world. This change to the partner program is actually a simplified version of the original – consolidating the 18 existing legacy competencies into six solution areas. Better aligning to the needs of the customer, aligning to the Microsoft strategy, and highlighting the broad technical abilities of Microsoft partners.

Microsoft Solution Partner Designations

The six solution partner designations help partners show off their technical ability and customer success. Partners with these designations set themselves apart from their competition as they demonstrate their organization’s breadth of capabilities in solution areas with high customer demand.

Partners earn designations by meting various requirements like adding new customers, improving their technical skills by attaining advanced certifications, and proving customer success through usage growth and deployments.

These designations include:

Solutions Partner for Data & AI (Azure) – Attained by CDI

Partners that demonstrate broad capabilities to help customers manage their data across multiple systems to build analytics and AI solutions.

Solutions Partner for Digital & App Innovation (Azure) – Attained by CDI

Partners that demonstrate broad capabilities to help customers build, run, and manage applications across multiple clouds, on premises, and at the edge, with the tools and frameworks of your customer’s choice.

Solutions Partner for Infrastructure (Azure) – Attained by CDI

Partners that demonstrate broad capabilities to help customers accelerate migration of key infrastructure workloads to Microsoft Azure.

Solutions Partner for Modern Work – Attained by CDI

Partners that demonstrate broad capabilities to help customers boost their productivity and make the shift to hybrid work by using Microsoft 365.

Solutions Partner for Security – Attained by CDI

Partners that demonstrate broad capabilities to help customers safeguard their entire organization with integrated security, compliance, and identity solutions.

Solutions Partner for Business Applications – Coming soon for CDI
