Hitting the Mark on Security with Lancaster Archery

If you’re from Central Pennsylvania or follow archery, you may have taken special interest in a teenager named Casey Kaufhold competing for gold in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Kaufhold is a 17-year-old from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, whose family owns Lancaster Archery Supply (LAS) – a Candoris customer. LAS is not only hitting the mark across the globe; they’re hitting the mark on security, too.

LANCASTER ARCHERY INVESTS IN THEIR FUTURE

Candoris has been fortunate enough to partner with Lancaster Archery to install almost every piece of technology in their data center over the past few years. They’ve continually bolstered their infrastructure to enable the scalability and expansion they desire for their company. Most recently, LAS began their own video production company and Candoris engineers installed a Dell EMC PowerScale to support the onslaught of data they now receive.

We recently sat down with Chad Ressler, Director of IT at LAS, to chat about their corporate IT security strategy and how Candoris earned their trust and became their digital pathfinder.

How did the Lancaster Archery Supply/Candoris relationship begin? What is Candoris doing for you today?

We first worked with Candoris a number of years ago on a VMware project for a new vSAN environment. We’re currently partnering together on a number of projects, including a new backup system and an enterprise storage system, in addition to managed security services.

How did Candoris earn your trust? What makes them your go-to digital pathfinder?

We had a great experience on the initial project! Candoris earned our trust by delivering on our projects and providing us with solid support and advice as we evolved our digital landscape. As Lancaster Archery continued to grow, our needs and environment became more complex. As we moved to new technologies like NSX, we relied on the experience and knowledge of Candoris engineers to assist us along that path.

What aspect of your technology keeps you up at night? How do Candoris and partner companies help alleviate that?

Information security is the issue of the current information technology landscape that concerns us the most. The explosion of ransomware is a huge concern, especially as threat actors are targeting smaller organizations. We work with Candoris and Arctic Wolf for our managed detection and response, and we’re in the process of implementing a new backup system to further secure our environments.

It’s truly been a privilege to work with Chad and his team over the past five years. It’s always exciting and rewarding when you see technology enabling a local business to grow, thrive, and build on their success.

Lancaster Archery is now able to quickly expand their video production company, allowing them to market themselves on a much larger scale. They already have contracts with major sports networks – all made possible by having the right infrastructure in place behind the scenes.

LAS leadership is pleased with the relationship they’ve built with Candoris. Not only is their growing company supported by a firm foundation of Dell EMC solutions, but they have our expert, trusted team by their side who truly cares about their success.
