CDI Achieves Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialization

Leading IT Systems Integrator and Cisco partner proves commitment to sustainable business practices

NEW YORK – August 18, 2022 — Award-winning IT systems integrator, CDI (Computer Design & Integration, LLC), has achieved Cisco’s Environmental Sustainability Specialization. CDI is a Cisco Gold Certified Partner and received this additional specialization for its efforts to implement sustainable business practices and reduce carbon impact.

“Cisco’s Environmental Sustainability Specialization allows CDI to help our customers refresh their aging equipment with the assurance that end-of-life products won’t just end up in a landfill,” said Tawna Perkins, Director of Sales Operations – Strategic Alliances, CDI. “Cisco will track products back to a secure location for data to be wiped before recycling or refurbishing. Remaining environmentally conscious is essential to CDI. We are proud to say we can help reduce waste and conserve some of the resources required for manufacturing.”

Instead of creating products to be consumed and discarded, Cisco is transitioning to a model that allows products and materials to be used again, and again. CDI has pledged to work alongside Cisco in their efforts toward a sustainable future.

The specialization entitles CDI to participate in Cisco’s Takeback initiative. This program is designed to reward Partners who pledge to work together with Cisco toward a sustainable future and commit to returning customers’ used hardware so it can be responsibly reused and recycled.

As part of the Environmental Sustainability Specialization, CDI has signed Cisco’s Sustainability Pledge that supports a commitment made by Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins to have 100% product return on end-of-use-hardware. The pledge also supports Cisco’s goal to:

  • Be net zero across global scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2040
  • Ensure 100% of its products are packaging incorporate Circular Design Principles by FY2025
