Amazon Introduces Sunday Delivery
Don’t be surprised to get that Amazon package on Sunday.
The holiday shopping season is here. And Amazon, the online retailer, is ready to play a major role. As evidence of this, the retail giant has announced that it will add Sunday deliveries in three major cities, New York, Los Angeles and London, for selected customers, according to the tech Web site TechCrunch.
Holiday craze
Amazon is now one of the go-to shopping sites for consumers during the winter holidays. So it’s little surprise that Amazon is ready to test Sunday deliveries. The company is working with the United States Postal Service to make it happen.
Better be Prime
This perk, though, is not offered to everyone. As TechCrunch reports, you have to be a member of Amazon’s Prime service to reap the benefits of Sunday delivery. Amazon Prime is a subscription service, kind of like a preferred customer club, that costs you $79 a year.
More cities
If you don’t live in New York, Los Angeles or London, don’t fret.
This is merely a pilot program for Amazon. The company has plans to expand the Sunday-deliver program to other markets — including cities such as Dallas, Houston and New Orleans — in 2014.
